Scarf turned Camera Strap

Clearly the camera strap was invented by a man. It is functional without a bit of glam involved. Bor-ing! I realized my camera needed some personality and what better way to add personality than with a bit of color?

Before boring camera strap

For my birthday last year I received this really cute geoprint scarf, and knew it would be perfect for this project. I bought a few lanyards at Hobby Lobby for $1.99 for the set. Then I found a little bit of leftover fabric from my last upholster project.

I used my current camera strap as a template for the pieces.

After The scarf was cut to size I folded the end so that it would fit into one of the little pieces of fabric.

In order to hold the end of the scarf still I used a barrette to hold it all together, while I pinned and sewed. Genius right?

All stitched up and ready to go.

The final product was done in about 30 minutes and looks so cute! I can hardly wait for all this Seattle rain to clear up so I can head out and get to snapping.
