Desktop Organization

desktop organization

As we all get older it seems like our New Years Resolutions are about organization. And we all know why, we get busy. Life gets a hold of us and we just don’t feel like we have the time to organize anything, no time to put it away, or we just don’t know where to put it after Christmas.

For this month I will doing a small post about organization each week. All little things, that will take 30-60 minutes to get done and you will feel all bright eyed and bushy tailed afterward.

Today I tackled my desktop. It was a mess. Things everywhere and just too difficult to find anything. It was time to jump on the new years’ bandwagon and get a project done to start off 2014 right.

I found this picture online:

Searched my computer to find the screen resolution (it will be different on every computer.) To find yours just right click on your desktop and scroll down to ‘screen resolution’ and click. My computer’s resolution is 1366 pixels by 768 pixels. I resized the photo to fit my computer’s screen resolution.

I then I found my way to my favorite photo editing site fotoflexer and started labeling.

It took a little back and forth to make sure all of the labels would line up correctly. After that was done I just put everything on the desktop under the correct labels. It also helped to add a few folders here and there to really streamline the files.

What do you think?
